Senior Prom -2024

_SON4923.JPG

I made my senior prom dress in 2024 for just $15, using polyester satin from the clearance bin at Hobby Lobby. Inspired by 1930s evening wear and the silky green gown Keira Knightley wore in *Atonement*, I chose a stunning burnt orange-red color. I fully draped the dress, adding a cross detail that ties at the back and a back panel that flows into a small train. I love how the fabric catches the light, giving it an almost liquid appearance.

Junior Prom Dress -2023

This is my Junior Prom dress that I made in 2023. This dress is heavily inspired by a dress Princess Margret wore in the crown. It was a very short scene, but I fell in love with it. I loved the elegant off the shoulder, the full skirt, the light florals, I couldn't get it out of my head. So, in Sydney fashion, I decided to make it. Took me a while hunting the web for the perfect fabric. I food this beautiful watercolor organza that was perfect. It has a bit of a shine that reflect the lights nicely.

This Regency-style dress, completed in 2022, was inspired by the 2019 film *Emma*. The garment features two layers: a cotton underlayer for comfort and structure, and a delicate polyester chiffon outer layer for elegance and flow. Decorative paper roses, originally intended for card embellishments, were affixed to the dress to add a dainty, romantic touch. Additionally, vintage appliqués salvaged from a deconstructed 1980s wedding gown provided by the theater’s costume shop were incorporated along the hem, enhancing the historical charm and intricate detailing of the piece.

Sisters Formal Dress -2025

I created a light blue chiffon dress for my sister’s 2024 formal, aiming to evoke the elegance of Cinderella. The design incorporated an 1860s bodice pattern to achieve a classic princess Basque waist. The skirt was tailored with pleats encircling the garment, excluding the front center for a balanced aesthetic. After experimenting with bow and flower appliqués, I ultimately chose to place two at the center and additional ones on the shoulders to enhance the overall sophistication of the ensemble.

Galinda -2025

This has likely been my most labor-intensive project to date. Inspired by the costumes from the Wicked movie, I initially believed it would be one of the easier designs to recreate. The dress required approximately 50 yards of tulle, meticulously crafted into rosettes made from long strips of fabric that were pleated and then sewn together in continuous spirals. In total, the design features 11 large rosettes, each contributing to the intricate and dramatic appearance of the finished piece.

Graduation -2024

I wore this dress for my graduation, featuring a pleated skirt on the sides to highlight the waistline, as I appreciate well-defined hip details. The fabric, repurposed from a thrifted tablecloth, proved to be an excellent choice, providing a pleasing structure and added stiffness that enhanced the prominence of the hips.

Homcoming -2022

This is my 2022 Homecoming dress, designed to incorporate the school colors of black and gold. I selected a vintage 1950s pattern characterized by its simplicity, featuring a full gathered skirt and a fitted bodice that ends precisely at the waist.

Sisters -2022

Every year my family watches White Christmas, so naturally I decided to recreate the iconic “Sisters” costumes with my own sister. I wanted the outfits to feel as authentic as possible, so I dyed both the lace and the tulle to match that exact shade of blue. Paying attention to the details became a huge part of the process — even noticing differences like Vera-Ellen’s higher collar compared to Rosemary Clooney’s.
The fans were the biggest challenge. They aren’t as large as the ones in the film, which was a little disappointing, but with a teenager’s budget they were the biggest I could get. To keep everything cohesive, I dipped the fans in the same dye bath as the dresses, then hot‑glued sequins and painted the handles. I used the same dyeing technique for the gloves as well.
It was actually my first time dyeing anything for a project, so the whole experience was a learning curve — but a really rewarding one. Seeing everything come together made all the effort worth it.

This 3 piece outfit is a favorite of mine. I was inspired by playsuits of the 40s and 50s and wanted to have one for myself! This green mini polka dot cotton set includes a sleeveless crop top, a pleated skirt, and high- waisted shorts.

Pink Dress -2021

Another dress I made from White Christmas.  This is one of my first ever projects so looking at it know I learned a lot! I used chiffon for the first time and did 4 circle skirts in total. I loved how Vera Ellens dressed moved, having a darker pink under skirt so I added that to mine. Planning on remaking it again in the future!

Winter Formal -2022

green formal.jpeg

This satin, emerald, green dress is a little thing I made for my sophomore winter formal in 2022. I really liked this. I used a pattern for the top and skirt and I wanted to do a drop waist, so I draped a piece to fit the skirt and bodice. This dress has a side zipper and a removable belt and pockets.

Orchestra Dress -2022

I was inspired by Audrey Heperurns black dress in sabrina for this project. I was in highschool and we needed are own black dress. I decided to make my own. I love the princess seams and the little bows I added to the shoulders. I gotten a lot of use out of this piece!

40s 2-piece set -2023

I used a 1940s pattern for this piece. I loved the high-waisted pleated shorts! This 2 piece set is made out of cotton with a side zipper closers.

Notebook Swim Suit -2021

I love this swimsuit even if I don't use it as one! I love The Notebook and I wanted to recreate something from it and I choose this swimsuit. It is just so fun, with the pockets and the gingham.
